WHAT’S GOING ON?
The brainchild of Walkeleles members, Jackie & Paul Byrne, the Wonderful Walkinstown Festival is supported by the Dublin City Council, and organised by a committee of local residents and organisations. We aim to showcase the best of our community, by promoting sports clubs, talent, art & culture and voluntary groups from the area.
The festival promises to offer a feast of entertainment for all the family. On stage, there will be music from The Walkeleles, singer-songwriter Natalie Moran, contemporary choir Musically Sound, the Crumlin Orchestra, Samba drummers and more. For the kids, there will be storytelling, superheroes, clowns as well as a host of other games and activities. It will also be a great opportunity for locals to chat with local community groups such as the Men’s Shed, Scouts, Girl Guides, DSPCA, Walkinstown Greenhills Resource Centre to name just a few. St James Gaels GAA club will host sporting activities on the day. Other attractions include an electrified train for children, stilt walkers, and even a vintage American fire engine. Kick off is at noon until 5pm. Bring a picnic and stay the whole day. We hope to see you there!
